A journey of faith, courage, and love across the untamed American frontier.
Pat Patterson calls California home, where he lives happily with his wife, Cindy, and together they’ve raised five sons who are now grown up. Before turning to creative work, Pat spent over three decades as a Senior Meter Engineer, working with respected companies such as Southern California Edison, Salt River Project, California Independent System Operator, and Trimark Associates, Inc.
After retiring, Pat followed his lifelong curiosity for creativity. He stepped into new roles as a writer, illustrator, music creator, entrepreneur, and photographer. His earlier publication, Hydrogen Fuel Cells: Independent Power Sources for the Future (2004), reflected his technical expertise, but his heart eventually led him toward stories of love, adventure, and faith.
Today, Pat writes romance and adventure novels that celebrate resilience, happy endings, and the beauty of second chances.

The Prairie Ride West pulled me right into the rugged beauty of pioneer life. I loved the blend of real letters and fiction. It felt authentic and emotional. The romance, hardships, and courage of Gene’s journey made it impossible to put down. Vivid, moving, and full of heart, this is a story that lingers long after the last page
What a wonderful book. Though I’m not an avid reader, finished this story in less than a week. The letters take you back to the truth of the journey most settlers had to face
